MISSION STATEMENT
The West Texas AutoCAD User Group is established to be an open forum in which CAD users throughout West Texas can gather to exchange ideas and experiences in an effort to improve their skills and proficiencies.
BYLAWS
1. Group Name
The name of this organization
shall be the West Texas AutoCAD User Group.
2. Purpose
West Texas AutoCAD
User Group shall be a nonprofit organization whose main focus shall be to
educate, enhance and enlighten its members in the effective application of CAD
products. This will be accomplished by holding monthly meetings. The meeting
will be held to evaluate/discuss various uses of CAD products and related productivity
issues, and to share common frustrations.
The group and its members agree to respect and comply with copyright and license arrangements that exist with the producers of products that they use and/or own. They will maintain all software independent of any commercial interests.
3. Membership
Membership shall be
open to any individual who is interested in using CAD products for any legal
purpose. Qualification as a member shall require payment of annual dues as specified
in number 4.
4. Dues
Annual dues will be
collected to cover the expense of monthly meetings, newsletter production and
distribution, and any other expenses of WTAUG. Dues will be $20 per person per
year and will be collected by the Treasurer.

5. Meetings
Regular meetings will
be held the second Friday of every month. The meetings will be held the ARCO
Permain Building in Midland. The time and location of each meeting will
be published on the Events page.
6. Fiscal Year
Starts at the June
meeting of each year.
7. Drawings (giveaways)
Must be a paid member
Eligible to win every 6 months - or you can buy into the drawing for 5$ Whether
you have previously won or are a nonmember/visitor.
8. Voting
Must be a paid member
Items to be voted on will be announced at one meeting and votes will be collected
& tallied through till the end of the next meeting at which time the results
will be announced. Votes can be submitted via e-mail or a paper ballot can be
submitted to the secretary/librarian who is also in charge of collecting and
tallying the votes.
9. Officers
The officers of West
Texas AutoCAD User Group will be elected annually at the June meeting. Nominations
for all positions shall be called for on the webpage, and at the two meetings
preceding the elections.
The officers shall consist of the following positions:
President: The president presides over meetings; largely organizes the meeting time, location and guest speakers; represents the group to other user groups or the professional community; and serves as the main contact for Autodesk as well as the LUG members.
Vice President: The vice president presides over meetings in the absence of the president; assists the president with meeting preparations; coordinates membership programs and resources; and represents the group to the professional community, Autodesk or other user groups when the president is unavailable to do so.
Librarian: To maintain and track any resource materials. To create a bibliography of AutoCAD Literature/websites and keep this list updated (helping the webmaster). Maintain the records of the Group meetings (Sign-in sheets and any official paper work of the group). Records the minutes of each meeting for those who could not attend.
Treasurer: The treasurer is responsible for collecting the annual dues; establishing the group’s bank account; maintaining an accurate list of members in good standing. Provide a report of the organization’s expenses; coordinating membership drives; and processing requests for purchases.
Publicity officer: To promote (and find ways of promoting/publicizing) the group. To appear in public (TV, Radio and Newspaper) on behalf of the group. To enlist other members to execute publicity actions. To assist the Webmaster in web/internet related publicity activities.
Webmaster: The webmaster is responsible for maintaining the WTAUG Web site. Maintains a master database of all members. Sends out e-mail notifications of upcoming events. All message and file traffic will be monitored for compliance with Web-site guidelines set by officers and will be open to the public with special privileges given to paying members.
Each officer is expected to attend the monthly meeting.
Officers shall notify other officers if they are unable to attend a regular meeting. If an officer fails to meet his or her responsibilities, a special election may be held and a new officer is elected.
